Audrieanna Burgin

Senior Research Scientist

Dr. Audrieanna Burgin is a Senior Research Scientist at WGU Labs. She is the founding director of the University of North Florida’s Diversity in Business program, a community of support for students of color within the Coggin College of Business. Dr. Burgin is a former Visiting Assistant Professor of Economics in the University of North Florida’s Coggin College of Business. Dr. Burgin earned her Ph.D. in Economics from Florida State University, completing her Topics in Educational Attainment & Labor Outcomes dissertation. Dr. Burgin’s award-winning teaching style is engaging, and she enjoys collaborating with colleagues on research initiatives. She is credited with the ability to provide clear explanations of complex problems to audiences that may not have training in applied econometrics. Currently, Dr. Burgin serves at the Founding Chairman of the board of directors for Becoming Collegiate Academy, Florida's first HBCU-inspired charter school. Dr. Burgin is a Hightower Fellow - class of 2023, a fellowship by the Jax Chamber that selects Jacksonville’s top 17 emerging leaders.Her research interests are Labor Economics, Economic Development, Urban & Regional Economics, and the Economics of Education. Dr. Audrieanna Burgin has earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Economics (UNF, 2011), a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management (UNF, 2011), and a Master of Science in Economics (FSU, 2015), Ph.D. in Economics (FSU, 2021).
