Kristyn Holmes

Senior Program Manager

Kristyn supports learning and innovation projects including the implementation of a system-wide innovation initiative; WGU Creates!™. She brings over 15-years in Higher-Education leadership from a variety of non-profit, B2B, brick-and-mortar and online institutions. Kristyn is a pragmatic leader who’s leadership style brings logical and innovative solutions to leading high-performing teams. She is very effective at cross-functional collaboration and quickly earns trust across organizations. Most recently, Kristyn led Faculty Operations teams in the College of Information Technology at Western Governors University where she spearheaded projects and innovations to improve student outcomes and faculty work-flow efficiencies. Kristyn draws upon her strong educational background including; MS in Wellness Management, MBA from Western Governors University and holds certifications as a Project Management Professional (PMP), Prosci Change Management Practitioner (ADKAR) and Six Sigma. When creating strategic initiatives Kristyn’s signature strength is leveraging Social/Emotional Learning and collaboration ensuring a people-first approach to process or system improvements. Kristyn has been a champion of diversity, equality and inclusion in the workplace and beyond. She sees the importance of DEI in the success of any organization. She is an advocate for helping close gender gaps as “you can’t build the future when only half the population is represented”. Kristyn has served as a volunteer mentor for Girls in Tech , The Mom Project and was a founding member for WGU’s Women in Tech club. In 2021 she was awarded an “All Builders Welcome Grant” from Amazon Web Services for her efforts in Diversity and Inclusion. Kristyn enjoys traveling, lake-side camping and all-around adventuring as she looks to experience everything that the big-wide-world has to offer.
