Lita Hooper-Simanga

Dr. Lita Hooper-Simanga is a Sr. Learning Experience Designer at WGU Labs. She earned a BA in Communication from DePaul University, an MA in Creative Writing from the University of Colorado-Boulder, and a DA in African American Literature from Clark Atlanta University. Her work has appeared in literary journals and collections, and she is the author and co-editor of several books, including a literary biography, poetry collections, and literary anthologies. She has served as a Fulbright-Hays Program Lead and received several fellowships for artist residencies. Dr. Hooper-Simanga has worked in a variety of Higher Education roles, including Professor of English at Georgia State University- Perimeter College, Associate Dean of Faculty at Strayer University, Faculty Manager at West Coast University, General Education Program Manager at WGU, and Learning Experience Designer at Georgia State University. She recently became an Online Learning Consortium IELOL Fellow and recipient of the UPCEA Gonzalez Leadership Scholarship. Her professional interests include diversity & equity and online faculty development.
